Abstract

50 mg of N-phenyl thiourea when applied through contact to females of Epilachna vigintioctopunctata brings about severe histological aberrations in germarium as well as in vitellarium regions. The aberrations are in the form of nuclear clumping and cytoplasmic vacuolization in the trophocytes, prefoliicular tissue and follicular epithelium. As a result of these cellular damages, yolk deposition within the developing oocytes is either incomplete or is inhibited.
